When I picked up my camera in 2001, after several years of neglect, the first subject I photographed was an old post office and barn down in Egypt, Texas. Those years my efforts were concentrated mainly on similar subjects; exploring the back roads, highways and sometimes dirt trails of Texas in search of artifacts, interesting quirks and whatever else I could roll up on. It was as much an effort of personal healing as it was of creative growth. As time went on I transitioned from mostly landscapes and rural scenes to other subjects, but the interest in these has always, and always will be, a fundamental part of my creative endeavors.
